Tuesday 29th December 1981 saw 55009 (D9009) ALYCIDON" with the penultimate Deltic railtour, the 1G06 King's Cross - Hull "The Deltic Executive", which ran to Hull via Harrogate and York and was to be the last Deltic visit to Hull during BR service...

...Now adorned with headboards 55009, issuing forth copious amounts of steam heat on a bitterly cold day, is seen at Harrogate prior to its run to Hull.
