Prior to the 1970's Deltics were unavailable
for excursions and charters due to their ECML workload. These
restrictions were eased in the late 70's, however, as work
schedules declined with the onset of new HST timetables.
One such occasion was on the 26th March 1978 when 55007 (D9007) "PINZA"
worked the DAA "Man Of Kent" charter from Victoria
to Dover Marine...

...55007 is seen at Sittingbourne (here and in the image above). The locomotive is seen in excellent condition complete with white wheel rims and yellow axlebox covers.
