55017 (D9017) THE DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY"
passes through Doncaster on the up center road on Saturday
29th August 1977, with the 1E01 08:00 service from Edinburgh to
King's Cross. At this time 55017 still retained her four
character headcode blinds though by this time redundant and
displaying the familiar white dots.
No.17 would enter Doncaster works on the 3rd October for her
final intermediate overhaul and re-appear on the 19th January
1978 with plated over headcode panels and with the loss of small
triangular cabside windows and nose and bodyside sandbox filler
doors (in evidence here adjacent to the small tail lights).
