Due to the failure of 55002 (D9002) "KING'S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY" on the morning of 28th November 1981 a quick replacement was sought for the days "Deltic Devonian" railtour from Finsbury Park to Exeter and return. The unsuspecting 55016 (D9016) "GORDON HIGHLANDER" was seconded, having arrived in London on the 1E35 20:25 Edinburgh - King's Cross and is seen here on the outward leg as 55016 passes Little Bedwyn on its way to Westbury and Exeter...
